The 2025 edition
- Date: 26 Jan 2025
- Location: Valls (Tarragona)
- Edition: 43rd Gran Festa de la Calçotada
A weekend that connected the festival with the entire territory
On Saturday, January 25, the start of Terra Calçotada was scheduled for the Valls Agricultural Cooperative. The project brought together the promotion of calçot with the gastronomic recognition of Catalonia and presented a common image for the four regions of the IGP: Alt Camp, Baix Camp, Baix Penedès and Tarragonès.
The presentation also announced plans to transform the winery space into the future Masia de la Calçotada. This archive records that announcement; it does not mean the venue was open as a museum in 2025. The distinction places the festival alongside its related projects without presenting a future proposal as an existing service.

The calçotada route changed scenery
The cooking demonstrations moved from Plaça de l’Oli to the car park on Sant Antoni Street. Plaça del Blat maintained the cultivation and sauce contests, while El Pati concentrated the calçots eating contest. The tasting continued at the Societat Agrícola: the tour linked different ways of getting to know the product, from its preparation to the shared meal.
The tasting pack cost 14 euros in advance and 15 euros on the day of the festival. It included twelve calçots and their accompaniments, as well as a promotion to visit the Casteller Museum. These are historical amounts, useful for documenting that edition, and not prices for later seasons.

Adrià Wegrzyn won the calçots eating contest
Adrià Wegrzyn won with 195 calçots and 3,275 grams. The complete podium is preserved in the contest special.
The day also introduced a children's sauce-making competition, won by Ainara López. Forn de pa Ca l'Estevet received the culinary innovation award for its savoury calçot croissant.

A massive celebration, with figures that must be read in context
The ACN chronicle published in Catalan News spoke of more than 30,000 attendees during the weekend and some 3,600 tastings distributed. The influx should be understood as an estimate: the festival occupies streets and squares, without a single access control.
The same information reflected the Chamber's interest in improving the experience rather than indefinitely increasing the audience. Touring the city, following the activities and enjoying food with enough space were also part of the report.
