What the Igp “Calçot de Valls” does is to define optimal harvest qualities, such as the best areas for growing Calçot.

Well, according to the IGP “Calçot de Valls” the Calçots must be at the time of sale:

  • Appearance: Whole, healthy, without strange moisture, without strange odors and never washed.
  • White part of the calçot: between 15 or 25 cm.
  • Diameter measured 5 cm from the root: 1.7 to 2.5cm
  • Presentation: The Calçot de Valls must be presented with the Calçot de Valls label certified by the Igp. And the packages will have 25 or 50 units each.
