The other day while organising the study I found a list that I made 4 years ago. When I lived in Barcelona and worked for a multinational company that had a turnover of 800 million euros. How things change huh! Well, I started thinking and this came out:

THE KINGS IN CASCORRO

Dear Three Kings,

This year I have worked a lot, I have gotten wet in the rain, I have planted many Calçots, I have sweated a lot and apart from my family being healthy and happy, I would like you to bring me the following:

  • A new tractor. The one I have is already emitting sparks from the exhaust pipe, it eats up my batteries and the wheels are a bit dodgy.
  • An Oil Mill: I would love to be able to make my oil here at home, at my own pace, with a lot of love.
  • A trailer for the van. Horse manure makes a mess, hehe, and collecting firewood leaves it dirty too.
  • Electric pruning shears, just thinking about everything I have to prune this year already makes my hand hurt.
  • A professional hazelnut or almond sheller, I'm tired of peeling them with the hammer.
  • 10 trailer-loads of manure and 10 tons of firewood.
  • One Karcher.
  • 100 olive trees more, since I have to uproot the hazelnut trees and plant more olive trees.
  • A large assortment of seeds for the garden.
  • Many wooden nests for the little birds in the field.

I hope it will be easy for you to bring me any of these things this year, because this crisis is pressing and we have to move forward.

PS: the photo is from here: san bartolome de pinares is Brutal.
