What is Calçofest and what changes between 2025 and 2026

The Calçofest is the Valls music and calçots festival that proposes to start the season with a whole day in the city. Its appeal is in combining two plans that you would normally organise separately: eating calçots with friends and seeing several concerts in the same venue.

2025 · The premiere

Saturday, November 22. First edition, with nine performances at Fornàs and a calçotada of 1,000 tickets.

2026 · The second edition

Saturday 21 November. Figa Flawas end their tour, a new line-up takes the stage, and the calçotada grows to 1,500 tickets.

Leave time to explore Valls: the morning activities, lunch and concerts take place at different venues. This guide separates the 2025 retrospective from the information published for 2026.

Calçofest 2025: a first edition with tickets sold out

On 22 November 2025, Fornàs premiered the festival with Maria Jacobs, Ginestà, Els Catarres, Figa Flawas, The Tyets, Buhos, La Fúmiga, Les Que Faltaband and DJ Trapella. The line-up brought together pop, festive sounds and music in Catalan, making Valls a place to meet and celebrate.

The Calçofest Matí brought circus, dance and music to the Pati, with proposals such as Passabarret and Tàrraco Surfers. The popular calçotada was held at the Agricultural Cooperative.

The council's retrospective reports 10,000 concert tickets sold out and 1,000 calçotada tickets. These are figures for different activities: the same person could participate in both. Read the first edition's retrospective.

That first edition offers a good idea for planning your visit: come with friends and enjoy the town, the meal and the conversation as well as the music.

Calçofest 2026: Figa Flawas end their tour at home

The second edition has a headline moment with a strong link to Valls: the end of Figa Flawas' tour. The afternoon and evening lineup is completed with The Tyets, Els Pets, Els Amics de les Arts, 31 FAM, Malifeta, Maria Jaume, Coco and DJ Trapella.

The morning programme features El Pony Menut, as part of Calçofest Matí. This is separate from the Fornàs concerts: its specific time was not listed in the afternoon and evening timetable checked on 27 October.

If you are coming mainly for an artist, use the table below to organise your arrival. If you want to live the whole day, leave the morning for the centre and then go to the calçotada.

Concert tickets and calçotada tickets: what to buy

Concert tickets and community calçotada tickets are sold separately. Decide first if you want music, food or the whole day: having a festival ticket is not equivalent to having the tasting booked.

The popular calçotada of 2026: place, menu and schedule

The meal is planned from 13:00 to 15:00 in the car park of the Valls Agricultural Cooperative. 1,500 tickets have been announced, compared to 1,000 in the first edition; that figure is the expected supply, not a confirmation of current availability.

The advertised menu includes 12 Calçot de Valls PGI calçots, sauce, a botifarra sausage, a slice of bread, crisps, dessert and water. For allergies or dietary needs, check the specific offer with the organisation before purchasing.

If you have never eaten calçots, go with comfortable clothes and a desire to get your hands dirty. Remove the burnt outer layer, dip the tender part in sauce and enjoy the ritual. Our calçotada guide and the sauce recipes will help you take the experience home.

Calçofest venues and getting there

Save three references: Plaça del Pati for the morning, Agricultural Cooperative to eat and Esplanada del Fornàs for concerts. The Calçofest map locates the venues, car parks and shuttle stops.

The map shows the main parking area at the former Ford site and other options in the industrial estate. Check the current shuttle information: do not use 2025 times to plan your journey home in 2026.

From Barcelona a bus is announced leaving at 14:30 from the Estació de França area and return at the end of the festival. Due to its departure time, it is designed for concerts; It doesn't fit with the calçotada from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Check reservation, meeting point and coach conditions.

If you travel on your own, also prepare your return or accommodation. The fact that there is transport to Valls during the day does not imply that there is a service when leaving at dawn. The practical Valls tourism guide brings together options to organise travel.

Our plan: Valls, vermouth, calçots and music

This is our proposal to take advantage of Saturday, in addition to the festival programme. Adjust the tour to your tickets and the times published for the Calçofest Matí.

  1. Start with the Pati and the centre. Arrive with time to walk around and enjoy the atmosphere before thinking about the concert line.
  2. Essential: Plaça de l’Oli and vermouth. Come to Plaça de l’Oli and make a stop at the Magatzem del Vermut, at 19 Carrer de la Peixateria. For us, a vermouth here is a must. Check its opening hours for that Saturday and leave enough time to get to lunch.
  3. From 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., the calçotada. With your ticket, put the focus on the table and the conversation. If you prefer a restaurant, book in advance: consult our calçotada restaurant guide.
  4. In the afternoon, heading to Fornàs. Allow time to reach the venue and get through the entrance. Doors open at 16:30 and Maria Jaume starts at 17:00.

A rest after lunch, comfortable shoes and a warm layer will help with a day that can finish very late. There is no need to rush: choose your concerts and leave room to improvise.

Visiting with children or access requirements

Children's tickets have their own age groups. For minors under 16 years of age, prepare the accompaniment of a responsible adult and the authorisation form for minors where required; the form covers families and authorised accompanying adults.

The organisation announces an area reserved for people with reduced mobility and a companion. Contact the festival to arrange access according to your needs. The afternoon and evening music is held under a tent, but there are outdoor spaces: prepare your visit taking both into account.

Calçofest and Gran Festa de la Calçotada: two different events

The Calçofest combines a music festival and gastronomy in November. The Gran Festa de la Calçotada is the January event with demonstrations, competitions and tradition in the streets of Valls. They share a city and product, but they have different dates and programmes.

If you are looking for the January festival, read our guide to the Calçotada de Valls 2027, scheduled for January 31. To understand the product that unites both celebrations, discover the Calçot de Valls and its origin.
